On April 30, 2025, the Diocese of Buffalo issued an decree titled: "Decree Reducing the Church of St. George, West Falls and It's Associated Property to Profane but not Sordid Use". Click here for a copy of the decree.

A mass for her was celebrated March 6 at St. George.

Christmas Eve mass at St. George will be at 5:00pm. Christmas Day mass at St. George will be at 10:30am. Please note that the 10am Christmas Day mass time shown on the St. George page of the bulletin is not correct, the mass will be at 10:30am as listed on the front cover of the bulletin. Please see the bulletin for Christmas Eve and Day mass times at the other Wheat Family Parishes.

Diocese of Buffalo Media Advisory November 29, 2024 Statement from Bishop Michael Fisher Many areas, especially in the Southern Tier of Western New York will experience heavy snowfall and drifting snow along with high winds, cold temperatures, and possible power outages. These conditions are dangerous and can be life-threatening. Please respect the travel advisories in our communities. In light of these dangerous conditions, no one should put themselves, or others, at risk. Catholics in communities effected by heavy snowfall and dangerous travel conditions are dispensed from the obligation to attend Mass this weekend. I ask those parishes who have livestream capabilities to livestream their weekend Masses. If your community has travel restrictions or dangerous weather conditions, do not attempt to attend Mass in person. Use the livestream technology to spiritually connect with others in prayer. Mass intentions for St. George may be made by calling (652-6400) or stopping in at the Immaculate Conception parish office at 520 Oakwood Avenue, East Aurora. When making a mass intention, please identify yourself as a St. George parishioner.

June 8, 2025 received the most votes for St. George’s closing date. On October 18, Fr. Jerry submitted June 8 as St. George’s proposed closing date to the Diocese of Buffalo for their approval.
