Road to Renewal Updates

On Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, Rev. Bryan Zielenieski hosted an hour long Zoom conference to update us on the Road To Renewal process in the Diocese. St. George parish is a member of Family #6, in the Genesee/Wyoming Vicariate.

As of Feb. 1, 2023, our Vicar Forane is Father Bernard Nowak who will reside at St. Maximilian Kolbe parish in Corfu. 

Several clarifying points were made by Father Bryan as he responded to questions submitted:

-    The naming of Pastors for Phase I Families of Parishes (including Family #6) is presently being done in a "rolling" fashion. As a Pastor accepts his assignment, he is given some time to disclose his departure to the parish he is presently serving. Timing for this varies and explains why some parishes already have Pastors and others do not.

-    The "activation" date for a Family of Parishes is the date when a Pastor is assigned. Six months following the "activation" date, the Family will be "inaugurated" with an established Family Action Plan meant to focus the efforts of the "pillar groups". 

-    A Road to Renewal app is nearly completed. It is hoped this will provide clear, timely information and respond to questions along the way.

-    A layering of consultative councils will offer parishioners avenues to provide advice & input. There will be a local Parish council, a Family level Council and a Vicariate level Council.
