Fr. Bill Quinlivan, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Tonawanda, will preside at a Mass followed by prayer for healing here at St. George's Thursday, March 22nd at 7 pm. Fr. Bill has been involved in healing ministry for about 15 years, very often celebrating at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lewiston at its Summer Healing Mass series. Music is often incorporated into the homily, invoking the Holy Spirit's gentle touch. After Holy Communion, we'll have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Facing the Lord Jesus in his Real Presence, Fr. Bill will intercede for and with people for their particular needs. Jesus is the healer, the priest is His instrument.
Lent is a beautiful time for spiritual healing through the Sacraments. In this style of prayer (unlike the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick) you can also stand in or pray for someone who is unable to attend. Remember that while healing can be for a physical problem like an illness, often our greater need is for inner healing. And we might not even recognize a need until we pray together and ask the Lord's blessings and graces!
