In 1972, under the leadership of Father Snyder, St. George’s Parish was presented with the “Centurion’s Shield Award” by the Consolata Mission Fathers of Buffalo for the missionary activity of building over twenty chapels all over the world.
Parishioners financed the building of a new mission in Kenya, Africa, which is named after St. George. This mission includes a church, school, hospital, a residence for sisters, a social hall, a rectory for priests, and a college for catechists.
Our parish continues its financial support to the St. George Mission in Kenya.
